In 1964 Renato Faganello came with his older brother from Longarone (Italy) to Waldkraiburg (Germany), where they opened their first ice cream parlor together. A year later he acquired the title "Maestro del Gelato" (in English: “Master of the Ice Cream”).
They ran the restaurant for six years until Renato decided to go to Chieming am Chiemsee (Germany) in 1970 to set up his own ice cream parlor and mobile ice cream counter there. In his "Carrettino" he supplied the surrounding villages with home-made ice cream.
In 1989, when Renato's son Maurizio entered the business, they changed their location from Chieming to Wolfratshausen (Germany). Maurizio also acquired the title "Maestro del Gelato" in 1993. A year later he married his wife Mary, who has been an integral part of the restaurant since 2009.
In 2018, the fourth generation entered the business with Fabio Faganello (the eldest son of Maurizio and Mary).
We still make our ice cream according to Maurizio's grandfather's original recipes and only use natural and regional products.
